Kompass
Book design for Kompass Space, an art project and curatorial initiative by Elena Barba and Moselle Kleiner, based in the window of a former kebab shop in Zurich’s red-light district. In 2024, the project presented a series of five exhibitions inspired by the five classical elements: Earth, Water, Air, Fire and Metal. Published in 2025 by Zurich University of the Arts, the catalogue documents the project and its activities. The design centres on a selection of papers with different textures and colours, each corresponding to one of the five thematic sections. An exposed spine binding highlights this variety, while also functioning as a visual timeline of the project. The blue cover references the sign with blue Greek lettering that identified Kompass Space in Zurich.
